Churches around the world bring life to their communities every day through acts of love and kindness, both big and small.

At Lifewords we want to equip you to include the life bringing words of the Bible as you reach out into your communities.
Here are 10 ways you and your church can offer scripture to your community, visitors, and congregations:
1. Little Books, Big Impact
Idea: Look for moments in your community where people could use some pocket-sized hope.
→ How could you make Bible resources available to your church’s local community?
UnitedLife, a church based in Sutton, have been sharing Lifewords' Little Books at their Kintsugi Hope sessions, and during their 'Coffee and Conversations' afternoons. Katherine, from UnitedLife, shares:
"The Little Books are made available at each of UnitedLife’s Kintsugi Hope sessions, with time given at the beginning of each session for everyone to look through the various resources available. In a similar way we loved having the Little Brick available for people to look through in the café, and many choose to take with them a Little Book that resonates with their context."
2. Seasonal Sparks
Idea: There are often visitors to churches during seasonal moments. Share with them a reminder of the Story.
→ What’s your next ‘church calendar’ moment?
Jan, from St Bartholemew’s in Deeside, shares: “Last year, we revisited the concept of OUTSIDE/IN and gave each family a copy of the Lifewords booklet. It was good to remind people, and to share with new people, the message that everyone is included, everyone is invited into the Christmas story, and the good news of Jesus Christ.”
3. Prayer Spaces
Idea: Create an interactive space to engage with the Bible and invite people to pray.
→ How could this work in your church?
4. Bible and Creativity
Idea: Help your community to creatively interact with the Bible through art, writing, collage, music, spoken word – and make it an event!
→ What could you do to take the next step in making this happen?

5. “One for You, One for a Friend” Boxes
Idea: Offer a free Bible resources box to a local shop, school, community centre, etc. – with helpful resources to take and share.
→ Offering support to your neighbours can help to build relationships.

6. Lifebringers Online
Idea: Share Bible verses, designs, or reflections online.
→ Add an encouraging verse when you reach out digitally.
7. Partner with Local Chaplains
Idea: Reach out to local chaplains with supportive Bible resources that can be used in their context.
→ Who is one local chaplain you could team up with?

8. Youth-Led Bible Ideas
Idea: Enable young people to co-create how Scripture is shared – in school, church, and on social media.
→ Why not encourage your young people to lead a service or organise an event?
9. Scripture for the Margins
Idea: Empower a mental health or addiction support group, a refugee fellowship, or a prison chaplaincy near you.
→ Could someone in your network use Bible hope?
Parkhead Nazarene Church is located in the east end of Glasgow, UK and welcomes many refugees and asylum seekers through its doors. As part of their outreach, the church offers English lessons to around 50 people, as well as parent and toddler sessions, and a running group specifically to support local refugee communities.
“Most of the people who come to our church are not Christian and are keen to learn more about our faith,” says Paul from the church. “Lifewords booklets are excellent conversation starters. Through our outreach, we hope to offer welcome in the name of Jesus, break down barriers between communities, and share about the hope we have in Christ.”

10. Pay it Forward
Idea: Be generous and equip others in their mission or ministry.
→ Every gift you give multiplies impact.
Every Lifebringer has a story – and that includes you! We want to hear how you and your church are bringing life in your community, and how Lifewords resources are helping.
