Christmas can be a time of fairy lights and festivities, ora time of loneliness and loss. For most people, it’s somewhere in between. Bring life in your community, church and family this year, helping those who love Christmas, and those who don’t, feel part of the story.
Outside/In
The Christmas story is full of unlikely characters. Those on the edges are drawn to the heart of the action. Everyone is invited in. Why not show this Outside/In animation with BSL interpretation, or with Makaton interpretation, as part of your Christmas services or even as people are starting to gather together. The accompanying booklet was created to be accessible as possible, using a larger text size and verses from Biblica’s New International Reader’s Version. You could make it available to all those who visit your church over the Christmas period so they can take the story away with them, or gift them to your friends and family.

The True Light
Every year, the True Light comes to us in the hopes, dreams, and disappointments of our every day lives. Joy mixes with grief; rejoicing with exhaustion. Yet the Christmas story encourages us not to be afraid, but to rejoice in the glad tidings of The True Light that gives light to everyone.
You might not be “feeling it” this Christmas. You might look at the decorations and gifts, hear the music and laughter, and feel nothing. Your church might host groups for whom Christmas is just another day. Wherever the True Light finds you, and them, this Christmas, experience the story through scriptures that speak of moments in the Nativity Story where hope meets real life and be encouraged that whatever the situation, we are not to be afraid – the True Light is coming!
You can find some accompanying animations on our YouTube channel that help to bring the story alive in the midst of modern life.
Meet the Cast
And we can’t forget the children! Kids church, school, Nativity services, grandchildren, Christmas party bags, even stocking fillers – these little booklets help children experience the Nativity story through the characters. There is also a downloadable pack of resources to help you guide the children through the story through craft, song, service outlines and assemblies.
