Our Global Bible Resources team distribute Lifewords materials to almost 70 countries across the world, in over 50 languages, resourcing pastors in Chile, churches in Poland and people like Rajesh and his friends in Sweden.
Along with a team of others, Rajesh seeks to share his faith with his community in Stockholm: “A group of us often stand close to the train station in Stockholm, offering free coffee and snacks. Many people take a flyer on their way in, and once they’re on the train, they have time to sit and read.
"We’ve even had moments where we could see people sitting down and taking time to go through the resource carefully. Providing hot drinks gives us a natural opportunity to discuss what’s inside the resources too. People coming back to our stall with questions after reading the flyers is always a special moment.”
Rajesh continued: “Lifewords’ resources have been very helpful. I’m so glad to see how God is using the organisation to touch people’s lives. Stockholm is a wonderfully multicultural city - we regularly meet people who don’t speak English or Swedish, so I make sure to share resources in many languages to ensure that language isn’t a barrier.”
“One story in particular has stayed with me. There was a Swedish man who had been wrestling for a while with the question of whether God is real. One Saturday, he shared this with his friends, but instead of engaging with him, they mocked him. He went home and quietly said in his heart: ‘If there is a God, show me a sign, so I know the truth.’
This is where Rajesh comes in: “The very next day, a Sunday, we offered him a coffee and a flyer. He read it slowly and quietly, without saying a word to us.
"Then, all of a sudden, he said: ‘This is the sign from God for me.’ We were all stunned at first - we didn’t quite understand what he meant. But when he explained, we were so encouraged and prayed with him right there.”
“It was such a powerful reminder of how God can use something small and simple to do something extraordinary in a person’s life. We . There are so many moments like these. Some we witness ourselves, and the rest we trust God will continue to work through in people’s lives, even when we don’t see it.”
Along with countless others, Rajesh is using Lifewords’ resources to share hope and to give opportunity to engage with the Bible. He reflects:
We are seeking to bring life through presence and simplicity. We show up on the streets of Stockholm - often in the cold, always with coffee - and we meet people where they are. We offer something warm, something to read, a moment of genuine connection and the chance to encounter something that could change their life - regardless of their language, background, or where they’re heading.
“It’s not always dramatic. Sometimes it’s just a flyer, a cup of coffee, and a quiet conversation. But we’ve seen again and again that God uses those small moments in ways we could never have imagined. We are simply planting seeds, and we trust that Lifewords will keep helping us do that here in Sweden.”
