How you could make a difference

Sometimes, a small act of kindness can have a much bigger impact than we realise.

At Lifewords, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to encounter the hope of the gospel, whatever their circumstances. But for many of the people we support, cost can be a significant barrier. Your generosity helps us keep providing resources and support to people who may otherwise miss out.

Through partnerships with organisations like Junction 42 and Langley Trust, Lifewords resources such as our WWI Gospels, Little Books or Finding Hope are reaching people in challenging circumstances.

Elizabeth Preece from Sixty-One shared: "Overall rates of self-harm in prisons are at historically high levels. Holiday periods come with additional stress and emotional difficulty for prisoners, including increased self-harm and suicide attempts. Our gift packs and the Lifewords Finding Hope resources provide a heartfelt reminder that someone out there genuinely cares, and gives people the opportunity for people to connect with the real and tangible hope that is available to them through the gospel message.

Lifewords’ resources enable us to provide people with the option of having an easy-to read simple explanation of the gospel message at the most difficult times of the year, giving hope for a future that is not defined by their past.

And the impact of Lifewords extends isn't just limited to prison ministry.

In Kenya, the Choose Life programme has been helping children develop skills to navigate the challenges they face at home and in their communities. Lifewords Africa Director Clara Ngobolia recently visited Chrisco Educational Centre, which has partnered with Lifewords and used the programme for 18 years.

Teachers at Chrisco have been trained to deliver Choose Life, and Clara heard directly from children about the challenges they are facing and how modules such as Choose Others are helping them respond in new ways.

Choose Life provides leaders with a way to invest long-term in children and communities: equipping them with skills, encouraging them to consider their choices and helping them discover hope.

Our global Bible resources are another way we are making the message of Jesus accessible to people from different backgrounds and cultures. Two new titles, Found and The Way of Jesus, are now available in English, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and Spanish.

Found retells the story of the prodigal son, following a journey from leaving home and losing everything to returning to a father ready to welcome him. Its message is simple and powerful: however far away we may feel, God's love is waiting to welcome us home.

The Way of Jesus offers an accessible introduction to Jesus and the life he offers. Through short reflections and Bible passages, it explores rest, radical love, welcome, forgiveness and new life.

These resources are designed to meet people where they are, offering an easy-to-read way to explore the Bible and discover the hope found in Jesus.

Whether it is the cost of a resource, the circumstances someone is facing, or simply not knowing where to turn, barriers can prevent people from encountering hope.

Your support helps us remove some of those barriers.

It helps put words of hope into someone's hands in prison. It helps a teacher deliver our Choose Life programme to children facing difficult circumstances. It helps make the story of Jesus accessible to someone reading it in their own language.

If you choose to support Lifewords, you could make a difference that reaches much further than you might ever see.
