We need your help

Since 1888, Lifewords has been helping people all over the world encounter the Bible in ways that bring hope, dignity and transformation.

Through social change, war and peace, technological revolutions and cultural shifts, we have continued to share the life-giving message of Scripture with people around the world. Hundreds of thousands have been impacted by the gospel of Jesus Christ, and many empowered, equipped, and encouraged to share life words.

Today, that work is at risk.

Due to significant funding challenges, Lifewords is facing the real possibility of having to shrink the organisation very dramatically.

Were this to happen, such levels of downsizing would greatly impact the effectiveness of a global ministry that has shared more than one billion Scripture resources, helped pioneer Bible engagement in over 250 previously unreached languages, produced resources in more than 1,000 languages over its history, and continued to serve churches, communities and individuals in more than 50 core languages to this very day.

A global ministry that supports church leaders like Pastor Teófilo in Chile to be a constant presence in his community, in public spaces, in the homes of those he pastors:

Lifewords has been a constant in our ministry since the 1990s when I arrived in Chile as a Brazilian missionary. It is a privilege to be part of this global network of people seeking to bring life.

What I value most is that Lifewords booklets are not mini-sermons or text-heavy articles - they carry the essential core of God's Word, presented with elegance and clarity.

A global ministry that resources chaplains like Rev Tim to share words of life at YMCA Cheltenham:

What I really like is the design, and the fact that the resources are succinct and more visual, which is much better suited for those who have a lower ability to read.

A global ministry that celeberates people like Pastor Geovanni in Cuba to minister to and care for his congregation:

Lifewords materials are of great help in pastoral care because they reinforce biblical teaching and accompany personal processes in a practical way.  They are tools that God uses to bring faith, comfort, hope, and truth in key and difficult moments.

A global ministry that empowers churches like St John Church's in Helen's Bay, Northern Ireland to partner with and equip local chaplains. Louise shares how the church decided to fund the resources that James, a hospital chaplain, could no longer afford:

As a parishioner sitting listening to a preacher, what really hooked everybody was hearing what it's actually like. He talked about the hours he works, what might seem like mundane things, as well as the personal side of what a privilege it is.

And then it led into this little tool, Daily Strength, that he has in his toolkit, that used help him in his work - but he didn't have that tool anymore.

We believe God is opening the door to a new chapter to resource and partner with ‘lifebringers’ just like Pastor Teófilo, St John's Church, Pastor Geovanni and Rev Tim.

Lifebringers is our framework for a growing movement of ordinary Christians sharing life, hope and faith in their everyday worlds. Through resources, stories, partnerships and creative projects, we want to equip a new generation of people to bring the Bible to life in their communities, workplaces and relationships.

We need to raise £150,000 in the next 90 days to sustain this vital global Scripture-sharing work and to support churches and individuals with our much-loved Bible resources in print, in person and online.
