Use prayers from the Bible
The Bible is full of prayers - from joyful praise and thanksgiving to cries for help, confession, lament and prayers for other people. They give us words to use when we’re not sure what to say ourselves.
Jesus also gave his followers a model for prayer in the Lord’s Prayer (Matthew 6:9–13).
Try choosing a prayer from the Bible and making it your own. Read it slowly, pause over a phrase that stands out to you, and turn those words into your own conversation with God.
Create an interactive prayer space
Prayer spaces can help people discover that prayer can be creative, physical and accessible to everyone.

You don't need a large space or elaborate resources. A few simple activities can create an environment where people feel comfortable exploring prayer in their own way.
Write or journal your prayers
It's often encouraging to look back at your prayers after several months or even years. You may notice prayers that have been answered, situations that have changed, or ways in which your own perspective has grown.
Share our Little Book of Prayer
A simple resource can be a helpful way to introduce someone to prayer. Our Little Book of Prayer offers accessible ways to begin or deepen a conversation with God.
Share a copy with a friend, family member, church group or someone who is curious about prayer, or use it together as the starting point for a small group, a prayer meeting or a personal time of reflection.
