Sharing joy this Easter

How can we share the good news of the Bible with our communities this Easter?

Each of our Easter resources use the Bible's own words to invite people to reflect on the person of Jesus, his death on the cross and his resurrection from the grave.

The Easter Journey narrates the story of the week leading up to Jesus’s crucifixion and the days that followed, taking the reader through a journey of eight days that changed the world forever, a journey from hope to despair and back again, a journey of betrayal, sacrifice, and infinite love.

It's great to see the diverse contexts in which The Easter Journey is being used to share the Bible's words of life. John, who volunteers as a chaplain at a YMCA shared: "Last year The Easter Journey offered a journey of hope to our service users."

A minister from the Isle of Wight, reflected: "I find that your resources are brilliant at specifically helping to tell the good news using a particular theme or opportunity. My aim with The Easter Journey booklet is to unpack the importance of telling the story both in church throughout Holy Week but also to encourage one another to take that narrative back into our homes to discuss with our family and reflect."

Lifewords has also created a series of eight videos alongside the booklet, which are available on YouTube in both English and Polish, and are great for sharing at events, church services and across social media platforms.

Finished/Risen is a double sided Easter card that centres around two world-altering phrases found in the Bible: “It is finished” and “He is risen.” The card features striking images and a short account of the events of Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Day Three: Believe the Women tells the story of the women who followed Jesus – and the day that changed everything. The booklet dwells on the revolutionary reality that Jesus entrust women with the task of being the first to share the good news of his resurrection from the dead. An accompanying animation is also available on YouTube, or to download.

Our range provides talking points for each moment of the Easter story, from Jesus incomparable sacrifice to the radiant joy of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead: “So the women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples.” (Matthew 28:8)

Our new resource Little Book of Joy is vibrant, upbeat and perfect for introducing people to the joy that can be found in the good news of the Bible, and in the joy of Jesus' resurrection.

From a church in North London including our Easter booklets in goody bags for the local estate, to a chaplain at a school in Chester building services of reflection around Lifewords Lent and Easter resources, there are countless ways in which our resources are being used to share the hope of Easter. How can you share the good news of the Bible with your community this Easter?
